Before the Orlík reservoir was filled, Orlík was situated on a rock bulge 60 metres high above the water level of the river Vltava. The originally Gothic castle from the 13th century, was in the mid-19th century rebuilt in the Pseudo-Gothic style. The castle offers historical interiors with valuable family art collections, a knights hall, Empire salons, libraries, a gun corridor, a hunting hall and a chapel.
