The Augustian monastery of that time was founded by the Rozmberk family in 1367 at the place of old church. Soon after this, monastery founding played a big role that city of Třeboň became an important centre of education and art. The oldest well-preserved parts of the monastery complex are the cloister in the convent, which dates from the 14th century. In the middle of the monastery paradise garden there is a 17th century stone fountain. You can visit the monastery and church of St. Jiljí in English only after reservation.
