The aim of Hartmanice Memorial was to complete the reconstruction of the synagogue in its original appearance.The Mountain synagogue in Hartmanice was inaugurated on May, 2006.
The main exhibition presents the history of Šumava and emphasizes the different roles played by the three ethnics ( Czechs, Germans and Jews) that have lived here. You can also visit others exhibitons e.g. Šumava captured in old photographs, Šumava villages before and after the Iron Curtain, History and reconstruction of the synagogue.
