Castle Zvíkov

The royal castle of Zvíkov near to small town Zvíkovské Podhradí was probably built by the czech king Přemysl Otakar II in the 13th century. Zvíkov castle is standing on the rock cliffs high above the romantic landscape and confluence of the rivers Vltava and Otava.

Castle Orlík

Before the Orlík reservoir was filled, Orlík was situated on a rock bulge 60 metres high above the water level of the river Vltava. The originally Gothic castle from the 13th century, was in the mid-19th century rebuilt in the Pseudo-Gothic style. The castle offers historical interiors with valuable family art collections, a knights hall, Empire salons, libraries, a gun corridor, a hunting hall and a chapel.

Jarník

Jarník hill (609 m) is one of the highest peaks of the Písecké Hory (Písek Mountains). It lies about 3 km east of the town Písek. On the top there is a observation tower. There are nice views of the scenery of the regions of the towns Týn nad Vltavou and Písek. The remains of gold mining can be found on the south-western slope of the hill - the desolate former pit with remains of the adit. The former limepit with the natural rock bridge can be seen on this slope as well.

Memorial Lety

The reverent area in Lety was on April 23, 1998 declared a cultural monument by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic. Here the prisoners of the determination camp in Lety are buried. There was a monument "To the Victims of Gipsy determination Camp in Lety" disclosed in 1995 as a memento. The determination camp itself does not exist anymore.
