Lipno.jpg Lipno Lake is about 30 kilometers southwest of the historic city of Český Krumlov.
After the Lipno dam was build in the river the Vltava, the 48 kilometers long Lipno Lake came into being and with it the largest lake in the Czech Republic.

When you are sailing on dam Lipno, you should be prepared for strong breeze and waves. It is much more safer to keep a kayak next to the shore but not in the trail of shipping line traffic (it´s marked with buoys). The Lipno lane starts in Nová Pec and ends in Vyšší Brod. Choosing the sail of Lipno takes you at least 2 days. The majority of renting promoters will recommend you to carry your canoe and you to starting point at lower stream of Vltava in Vyšší Brod.

The Lipno lake is probably more suitable for sport such as: sea kayak, windsurfing, kiteboarding, aquaskipping a jachting. You can explore all outlying coves and shores of Lipno in sea kayak. Favorite places for windsurfing shall be: Frynburk, Jenišov u Horní Plané and Černá v Pošumaví. The yacht docks can be found in Frymburk, Černá v Pošumaví and Lipno nad Vltavou.
